The Nicholas Hall New Product of the Year Award (Europe) 2011

Date: 20/04/2011

The European New Product Award went to a brand whose TV campaign had earlier been seen by delegates voting for the Creative Award. Announcing the worthy winner, Flomax Relief (Boehringer Ingelheim), Nicholas Hall said that the product represented another important advance in pharmacy point-of-care, and that pharmacists had embraced the opportunity of engaging with a male audience. Flomax Relief is also the first POM-to-P switch involving a shared-care supply protocol, in other words a co-ordinated approach to BPH from GPs and pharmacists.

Neil Lawrence, Divisional Director of Consumer Healthcare at BI, commented in his submission for the awards that: “Feedback has shown that once pharmacists are able to engage with men, they have been able to discuss and screen for other, more serious health conditions, broadening their healthcare offering.”
